The Uganda Musicians Association (UMA) has officially announced to support singer Serena Bata in the ongoing contractual disputes with bivulu promoter Abby Musigunzi aka Abitex.
In partnership with the Foundation of Human Rights Initiative (FHRI) and the Pan African Network for Artistic Freedom (PANAF) , UNA is to ensure the rights, freedom and integrity of the singer upheld.
UMA says it has keenly studied the circumstances of dispute between Serena Bata and her former manager Abitex and ready to defend it’s member as the case is already in court.
The musicians association intervenes in the issue after earlier this year Abtex coming out into media claiming that the singer breached the contract they had made.
This comes on board after Abitex summoned a demand notice fees to Serena that is estimated to over Ugx 350M for performances, damages, losses and more that the promoter claim to have incurred when the contract got breached.
