Beenie Gunter Arrested – Bobi Wine Reacts to singer’s arrest

The peoples’ president and the president of the National Unity Platform (NUP) H.E Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine has reacted to the arrest of Ugandan Reggae Dancehall Artist Baguma Crescent popularly known by stage name Beenie Gunter.

Beenie Gunter was arrested at Dubai airport while he was on his return to Uganda alongside his girlfriend Nickie Berry. This however followed after a disagreement amongst the promoters that had earlier booked him to perform in both Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

In a Facebook post, Bobi Wine has called out all those concerned to join voices and demand for the immediate release of the dancehall singer.

“I have also learnt of the detention of musician #BeenieGunter in Abu Dhabi where he apparently had a performance on the weekend. Several artistes from Uganda and Africa have been unfairly detained in the UAE many times in the past. It’s important we join voices to demand that due process is served so that this brother can safely return home.

On other hand, the President of the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF) Edrisah Musuuza aka Eddy Kenzo has also reacted to the arrest of Bennie Gunter.

“As the President of the Federation, I’m trying ma best getting in touch with H.E Zaake Kibedi, the Ambassador of Uganda in Uganda Arab Emirates to make sure our brother gets justice and is set free as soon as possible and those that are responsible be charged for their crimes,” Eddy Kenzo posted.
