Singer Sophie Nantongo has opened up about her life asking people to respect who she is because she doesn’t see herself changing for anyone else specifically the public.
The singer has been in the music industry for so many years. She is well respected for her talent and she doesn’t usually involve herself in public dramas and scandals.
According to the singer, Ugandans usually see musicians like her very outdated. She said that they prefer other musicians rather than the band music.
Sophie Nantongo said there is nothing like band music just that people who do that are just talented and sing live music.
But the fact that band music doesn’t evolve, people don’t want to associate themselves to and that is something that they need to know.
“No genre can be called band music. Band music is good, but it has been evolving. There is always room for improvement. We should learn to appreciate people and their choices. When you do, you will find yourself more comfortable. Sophie Nantongo is who she is, and she is comfortable with that,”
It should be noted that most Ugandan musicians that sing live music have not advanced and don’t want to be called band musicians.
