Ugandan President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has today approved the anti-Homosexuality bill that was passed a while ago by Parliament with aims of fighting the act that had started circulating in different areas of the country.
This has been a long awaited thing by Ugandans who believe in culture and norms of the country and surely these are praising the president for the act.
The Bill was first passed on 21 March, 2023 but was returned by the president to the Committee on Legal and Parliamentary Affairs for a review on concerns and proposals that were made by him regarding and distinguishing between being a homosexual and actually engaging in acts of homosexuality.
In the bill approved by president, anyone found guilty, will be sentenced to seven years imprisonment. Museveni approves the anti-homosexuality bill after being threatened by western countries who said will stop giving their annual funds to Uganda.
