Uganda’s legendary singer and Leone Island boss Joseph Mayanja, popularly know by stage name Dr. Jose Chameleone has reportedly quit Eddy Kenzo’s Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF).
The singer has been a loyal member since the formation of the UNMF but according to an inside source, the Forever singer has decided to leave with immediate effect. Additionally, the same source reveals to Naster Ug that he is not willing to reconcile with UNMF’s president Edrisa Musuuza alias Eddy Kenzo.
Dr. Jose Chameleone feels he is not ready to be under the leadership of Eddy Kenzo, though he revealed in one of the interviews earlier on that he had no problem with Eddy Kenzo’s leadership. This news comes in at a time when many artists are leaving the UNMF revealing to Ugandans that Kenzo and his team have their own intentions other than uniting all artists in the country.
According to a post trending on social media, it notes that Chameleone wasn’t happy with the money he was given because it isn’t worth his brand.
“At the federation, they are given ten thousand US dollars every Tuesday to cater for the musicians who perform at Jam Session. Chameleon was given 200 dollars, but he expressed dissatisfaction and will no longer attend the federation,” a source revealed.
