Singer Eddie Yawe one of the older brothers of the Ssentamu family has revealed the secret behind their wealth.
He said it didn’t start with them, it goes way back with their great grand parents who were the richest in their village Gomba with permanent and flat houses.
Ssentamu family that involves Bobi Wine is one of those that are known to be rich. They have luxurious houses with a lot of money that Ugandans don’t understand where it comes from.
They always say businesses but they don’t reveal the exact kind of businesses they do to earn that money.
Eddie Yawe said it started with their father who had a lot of property but because he was a rebel they lost everything. With the struggle they managed to work harder to regain everything.
“You (the public) are just blowing it out of proportion but there are very many rich people in the country. Our dad was a rebel, we also followed him because we expected a lot of things from the struggle. We lost so many things; our farms, ranches and our late mum kept promising us that we would reap but we didn’t. So from then, we tried our best to fight and get to where we are on our own. Now the world sees us as people who have achieved something. We are still fighting to go onto the next level.
The singer said people need to understand that all their relatives are rich but they just don’t show anything to the public.
“We are not the only ones, even our relatives down in Gomba have achieved this because most of the flats in the village belong to them. Our legacy comes from way back, we are hardworking and I hope we act as examples to those people hustling that they can make something out of themselves from a bad situation,” Eddy Yawe said.
