Asan Kasingye Speaks About Corruption In Police

Former assistant Inspector General Asan Kasingye has opened up about the corruption in the police department.

He said that it is very understandable when people say that police is corrupt although most of them are very good, only a few a corrupt.

During his time in office, Asan Kasingye said he used to fight against corruption in police but the department is very big. He did his job so well and resigned on good terms.

He said that he used to educate the young officers on the importance of being truthful to themselves and avoiding acts that can jeopardise their work.

Asan Kasingye also talked about the behaviour of Ugandans when it comes to protesting like the concluded one matching to parliament.

The former AIGP said that he was against it and he is still because a lot can be damaged during the protest with the example of Kenya.

“It’s understandable when people say that Police is corrupt, but it’s important to note that not everyone is corrupt—only a few individuals. I don’t support the idea of marching to Parliament during protests because a lot gets damaged, as we saw in Kenya,” Asan Kasingye
