Here Is Why Ugandan Gospel Music Industry Is 20 Years Behind Secular Music

The self proclaimed President of Ugandan gospel music industry Lanek has revealed reasons why it is 20 years behind secular music.

He said that Christians don’t support their own especially in the music you find them supporting the secular music behind scenes but pretend like they support gospel.

There are many successful gospel musicians in Uganda but a few have had successful concerts once they organize them. Their music is played in churches but they don’t show up to support in person.

Early this year Gabie Ntate a gospel artiste had a concert but it terribly flopped. People laughed at her but she was happy that it somehow worked out for her.

According to Lanek he is the president of the artistes but unfortunately he can’t do anything to force Christians to support their artiste.

He said that if they don’t improve the industry will keep behind and no one will come out to revive it.

“I became president because I was ordained by God. I was not chosen by people. I am not going anywhere, and I am here to stay because God chose me to lead.
The gospel music industry is 20 years behind in comparison to secular music, and this is because even Christians themselves have refused to support their music,” . – Lanek
